Customers can stop promotional texts on mobile phone through ‘Do Not Disturb’ service
Customers will be able to stop the flow of promotional texts on mobile phones through the "Do Not Disturb (DND)" service.
The mobile operators have introduced the option of blocking these SMS for the customers several years back following instructions of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
To aware users, BTRC today said anyone unwilling to receive promotional SMSs on his/her mobile can dial the following short code and activate the Do Not Disturb service.
To activate the service, Grameenphone users have to dial *121*1101#, Banglalink users *121*8*6# and for Robi and Airtel it is *7#.
