Borak Real Estate introduces 'Taj' and 'Vivanta' hotel brands
The iconic "Taj" and "Vivanta" hotel brands have been introduced in Bangladesh by Borak Real Estate Ltd (BREL), a concern of Unique Group, said a press release.
Unique Group is also the owning company of Unique Hotel and Resorts, which is the leading hotel and hospitality management company in Bangladesh operating Marriott International's 5-star hotels -- The Westin Dhaka and Sheraton Dhaka -- and 4-star boutique hotel HANSA -- A Premium Residence.
On April 17, the hotel management agreement was signed by representatives from The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) and Borak Real Estate Ltd (BREL) at Sheraton Dhaka.
On behalf of IHCL, Suma Venkatesh, executive vice president of real estate and development, and Rajendra Mishra, executive vice president and general counsel, signed the agreement; and on behalf of BREL, Mohd Noor Ali, managing director, signed.
During the signing ceremony, Rohan Ranade, associate vice president, real estate and development, IHCL, and Salina Ali, chairperson of BREL, were also present.
Under the agreement, the top Indian Hospitality Company- IHCL (operator) will be operating its brands "Taj" & "Vivanta" at Gulshan 2 (Dhaka) in partnership with BREL (owner). The agreement will be valid for a period of 30 years.
Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive officer of IHCL, spoke on the occasion.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh Advocate Mahbub Ali was present as chief guest, where Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman (chairman, CAAB), Abdul Matlub Ahmad (chairman, Nitol Niloy Group) and Shubham Yadav (second secretary, High Commission of India in Bangladesh) were present as special guests.
The ceremony was also attended by all partners of Tata Group in Bangladesh and high officials of both BREL and IHCL.
