Zainul Haque Sikder to be laid to rest tomorrow in Shariatpur

Freedom fighter and Sikder Group Chairman Zainul Haque Sikder will be laid to rest tomorrow at his village home at Bhedarganj in Shariatpur.

His body has been kept at ZH Sikder Women's Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka's Gulshan area after his first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on the hospital premises after Zohr prayers today, said family sources.

Sikder will be laid to eternal rest with state honour and a guard of honour beside his mother's grave after another janaza in Shariatpur.

The body of Zainul Haque Sikder arrived in Dhaka on Friday. A chartered aircraft carrying the body from Dubai landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:15pm on the day.

Zainul, also chairman of National Bank, breathed his last on Wednesday at a hospital in the UAE at the age of 91.
