Graduate employment programme FutureNation launched
FutureNation, a dedicated programme for graduate employment in the private sector, was launched today in a bid to create decent work and entrepreneurship opportunities for the youth of Bangladesh.
Grameenphone, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) jointly launched the initiative at the Sheraton Dhaka.
The primary objective of the programme is to create sustainable economic opportunities for young graduates through decent employment and facilitate a skilled workforce that can cope with the transforming industry trends.
It also aims at reducing the unemployment ratio of graduate youth groups through basic training in digital and financial literacy, communication, and business appreciation.
Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment adviser to the prime minister; Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT; Md Sirazul Islam, executive chairman at BIDA; Sudipto Mukerjee, resident representative at UNDP, and Yasir Azman, chief executive officer of Grameenphone, spoke at the event.
