Deloitte opens office in Dhaka

Deloitte, a global advisory firm, sees a good prospect in providing business consulting services in Bangladesh as it opened office in the country.

Deloitte wants to make a difference by providing full ranges of services of audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk, and tax services, said Joydeep Datta Gupta, a board member of Deloitte Bangladesh.

“Deloitte will help create powerful business solutions for business organisations,” he said while addressing a press conference at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden yesterday.

Deloitte organised the press meet to announce the opening of its office. It used to provide services from India to multinational companies and a good number of local companies.

Gupta said local companies in Bangladesh are keen to be multinational, intend to be compliant and seek Deloitte's help.

If a company has just started to become a global powerhouse, Deloitte's professionals can help the firm sustain and grow, he said.

“By combining the deep local knowledge and global expertise, Deloitte Bangladesh is well-positioned to help new and existing clients make an impact that matters in Bangladesh."

Nurul Haque, managing partner of Deloitte Bangladesh, said, “We are proud to join the Deloitte network, respected for its world-class professional service, innovation and ethics.”

“With our deep industry expertise and commitment to quality, I am confident that Deloitte Bangladesh will deliver value to clients and grow the local talent pool.”

Nurul Faruk Hasan & Co and Business Consulting Services have partnered with the US firm to strengthen its service offerings.

With this, Deloitte Bangladesh will have a base of more than 100 professionals and highly respected clients. It hopes to grow the workforce severalfold in the next few years.

Talking to The Daily Star, N Venkatram, a member of Deloitte global executive committee, said they have come to Bangladesh as its economy is growing faster and local entrepreneurs are ambitious to be multinational.

He said pharmaceuticals, leather, power and energy, consumers goods and agro businesses have good future and need consultancy services.
