Biman to open flights to China

The Civil Aviation Authority of China has given the nod to Biman Bangladesh Airlines to launch flights on the Dhaka-Kunming and Dhaka-Guangzhou routes.
Hualong Yan, minister counselor and deputy chief of mission of the Embassy of China in Bangladesh, said this in a Facebook post yesterday.
"The approval will further facilitate travel of students and business communities between the two countries," he also wrote.
Biman, the national flag carrier of Bangladesh, will be the second airline operator of the country which got permission to operate flights in China.
Private air operator US-Bangla Airlines is operating a weekly flight on the Dhaka- Guangzhou route at present.
Asked, Biman Managing Director and CEO Zahid Hossain told The Daily Star that they were yet to get an official announcement from the Chinese authorities in this regard.
"But we are initially planning to operate flights on the Dhaka-Guangzhou route with our Boeing 777 aircraft," he added.
