Petrol pump owners on 8-hour strike

Most petrol pumps in Dhaka and across the country remained closed since this morning as part of an eight-hour strike enforced by the pump owners to press home a 10-point demand.

The Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners Oikko Parishad enforced the strike since 6:00am.

Among their key demands, the petrol pump owners are seeking a minimum 7 percent hike in commission on fuel sales, as well as a reduction in the lease fees for land under the Roads and Highways Division.
