Combined entry test for 20 public universities postponed due to Covid-19

Twenty science and technology and general public universities holding uniform admission tests have postponed their entry tests due to the Covid-19 situation.
Authorities of the universities took the decision after an online meeting held this afternoon.
After the meeting, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Vice-chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed and Barishal University VC Prof Sadequl Arefin confirmed that admission tests scheduled for June 19, 26 and July 3 will be postponed.
"We will declare the new dates, observing the Covid-19 situation," Farid Uddin said.
He said the primary application process of 20 general, science and technical universities will continue till 11:59pm of June 25.
The primary application process had begun on April 1.
The universities include Jagannath University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Khulna University, Begum Rokeya University, Islamic University, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Noakhali Science and Technology University, Cumilla University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Pabna University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Barishal University, Rangamati Science and Technology University, Rabindra University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Sheikh Hasina University, and Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University.
On December 1, 2020, 20 public universities agreed that they would enrol students through a centralised admission test for the next academic session to reduce hassles of admission seekers.
Earlier, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that it would go for a uniform admission test for the 2020-2021 academic year.
