Gazi Group Cricketers defeated Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 24 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method during the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match at BKSP’s No. 4 Ground today.

Sheikh Jamal won the toss and scored 232/9 in 43 overs. Tanbir Hayder was the highest scorer for his side with 57 from 54 balls. The target for Gazi Group was revised to 91 in 20.5 overs due to the rain interruption at BKSP.

Gazi Group reached 114 in 20.5 overs for the loss of two wickets -- and ahead by 24 runs as per the D/L calculations -- when rain stopped play. Jahurul Islam was unbeaten on 49 while Mominul Haque made 46.

Brothers Union came out on top by 17 runs under the D/L method against Kalabagan Krira Chakra in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match at BKSP’s No. 3 Ground today.

Kalabagan opted to bat first and were all out for 171 in 42.2 overs. Mehrab Hossain jnr and Muktar Ali scored 28 each. Manvinder Bisla of Brothers took 3-23 in 5.2 overs to peg back Kalabagan.

Brothers reached 82 for the loss of one wicket in 22.2 overs in reply when rain forced the players to come off. Brothers were 17 runs ahead of the D/L par score, and as there was no further play, that was the margin of victory. Junaid Siddique was 38 not out and Manvinder unbeaten on 31 as they took their team home.

Prime Bank Cricket Club defeated Partex Sporting Club by 37 runs under the D/L method in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match at Fatullah today.

Partex won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Jony Talukdar and Jatin Saxena started positively. Jony scored 69 off 86 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Partex were eventually bowled out for 192 in 46.2 overs. Nazmul picked up 3-23 in seven overs.

In reply, Prime Bank had reached 114 without loss in 24 overs when rain stopped play. The D/L par score after 24 overs was 78 and therefore Prime Bank were victorious by 37 runs as no further play was possible. Mehdi Maruf was unbeaten on 52 off 69 balls while at the other end Zakir Hasan was not out on 55 off 75 balls.
