Ershad has final say in everything JP
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad will have the sole authority to make any decision over the party's participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He will have the final say on whether his party will contest in the election alone or under any alliance.
Ershad, also special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will have the ultimate authority over nomination of his party members for the general election.
All of these were decided at a joint meeting of JP presidium members and lawmakers yesterday, said a press release.
At the meeting, the party leaders agreed to prepare for contesting in all the 300 parliamentary seats, it read.
They also decided to put in efforts to make successful the upcoming grand rally of the United National Alliance (UNA).
The rally will be held under the leadership of JP at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan on October 20, it further said.
UNA, an alliance of 58 political parties led by JP, was formed in May last year.
JP's Senior Co-chairman and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Raushan Ershad; Co-chairman GM Quader; Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader; Presidium Member and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud; State Minister for Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Mashiur Rahman Ranga; State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu, and lawmakers Kazi Firoz Rashid and Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, among others, were present at the meeting.
