As we watched in horror the sea of red unfolding over the map of America, a place I had called home for the last 37 years, and the reality began to sink in that the unthinkable had happened—Donald Trump had been elected President of the United States—we had still not grasped what that would mean to those of us who were Muslims living in this country.
