Trace My fashion

April 24 marked Fashion Revolution Day 2015. To commemorate the occasion, a fashion website and exhibition called “Trace My fashion” was launched at the Daily Star-Bengal Arts Precinct on April 24. The exhibition, open from 12-8pm, ends today.
Sophie Aubert, Ambassador of France to Bangladesh and Md. Atiqul Islam, President of BGMEA graced the occasion as chief guests. Muzaffar Siddique, President, BUFT (BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology) and Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice President, BGMEA were present as honourable guests.
The event highlighted QR Code project “Trace My Fashion” in order to promote transparency in the fashion industry. Fashion Revolution Bangladesh in partnership with BUFT and Hong Kong-based non-profit Lensational and Norway-based organisation Fashion Footprint have launched an interactive platform to answer the question “who made my clothes?”
Two years back, on the same day, the massive industrial mishap at Savar's Rana Plaza claimed the lives of 1133 garments workers. The day became Fashion Revolution Day, to commemorate the workers who lost their lives and the survivors, and to call for a positive change so that such an incident never happens.
