AL to lay siege to dist admin offices Nov 30
The Awami League-led 14-party combine will lay a two-hour siege to the district administration offices across the country on November 30 to protest the price-hike of essentials.
Fixing the two-hour siege programme, the liaison committee of the opposition at a meeting yesterday also discussed the preparations for holding a grand rally in Khulna on December 9 as part of the two-month-long programme announced from the November 22 grand rally at Paltan Maidan in Dhaka.
Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil MP told reporters that before the Khulna grand rally, the opposition will launch a mass contact programme in 10 districts of Khulna Division on December 3 and 4.
"Besides, yesterday's meeting of the liaison committee also reviewed the latest political situation in the country," he said.
Chaired by Abdur Razzak MP, the meeting at the Gulshan residence of Jalil was attended by Tofail Ahmed and Abdul Jalil of Awami League, Rashed Khan Menon and Bimal Biswas of Workers Party, Hasanul Huq Inu and Zafar Sajjad of JSD, Saifuddin Ahmed Manik, Pankaj Bhattacharya and Mafizul Islam Khan Kamal of Gano Forum, Alhaj Abdus Samad of Gano Azadi League, Nurul Islam Khan of Ganotantri Party and Dilip Barua of Samyabadi Dal.
