Lindsay in final
Top seed and defending champion Lindsay Davenport cruised past Russian seventh seed Nadia Petrova 6-0, 6-3 on Saturday to reach the final of the WTA claycourt tournament here.
The American world number one will face Italian Silvia Farina-Elia, the 12th seed, in Sunday's final after the veteran saw off French outsider Virginie Razzano 6-1, 6-3.
Davenport, 28, has now reached the final in five straight starts. However, only one of those finals appearances in has produced a victory, at Dubai last month.
Davenport needed only 48 minutes to overwhelm Petrova with 29 winners, including eight aces. The three-time Grand Slam champion never faced a break point on her serve.
The unseeded Razzano was broken five times by Farina-Elia, who dropped her own serve just once as she closed out the match in 1hr 20min.
