HC issues rule on govt, PSC
The High Court yesterday in a rule ordered the government to explain in three weeks why it should not be directed to hold fresh written test on general mathematics and practical science of the 25th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations.
The court issued the show-cause on the government and Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) following a writ petition filed on the leaking out of question paper of the subject after the examination was held on February 24.
The writ petition was filed by Jatiya Chhatra Dhara, student wing of Gono Forum, its President Mahfuz Akram and General Secretary Mohammad Rashed who was also an examinee.
In the petition they said a general diary was filed with Ramna Police Station regarding the leak out of the question paper half an hour before the start of the examination. Reports were published in different newspapers on the leak out.
Dr Kamal Hossain and barrister Abu Khaled Al Mamun moved for the petitioners.
