'663 killed in 6 months'
At least 663 people including 198 children were killed in incidents of human rights violation across the country in last six months, said a report prepared by Odhikar.
Odhikar, a human rights organisation, in its half-yearly report said 108 women were killed for dowry while 76 others killed after being raped.
The report, based on newspaper reports from January to June this year, said 195 people were killed, 2675 people injured and 1158 arrested in political violence.
At least 43 people lost their lives at jail custody while the law enforcers killed another 31 people, it added.
The report said 225 children were raped, 108 injured, 44 trafficked, 109 kidnapped while 27 became victims of acid throwing.
Besides, 60 children committed suicide and 21 were arrested, it added.
The report mentioned that 29 journalists were injured, 14 arrested and three assaulted during the period.
Besides, 38 journalists received threat, 17 were sued and one was kidnapped.
In Chittagong Hill Tracts, twelve people were killed, 44 abducted, 31 injured, 14 arrested, eleven missing and one raped during the period, the report added.
