Indian Home Minister Amit Shah tests negative for Covid-19
India's Home Minister Amit Shah, who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus for 12 days, today said that he tested negative.
Fifty-five-year-old Shah also said he will be in home isolation for the next few days as per doctor's advice, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
"Today, my coronavirus test report has come and it is negative. I thank God and also express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who wished for my recovery and gave strength to my family. I will be in home isolation for a few more days on the advice of doctors," he tweeted in Hindi.
On August 2, Shah himself had announced on Twitter that he had tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to a leading corporate hospital in Gurgaon, a satellite city of Delhi, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
Shah had attended a meeting of the Indian cabinet two weeks ago a few days before he was tested positive for the contagion. The meeting was attended by all top ministers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman where all safety norms, including social distancing, were followed.
