US Reps to discuss Bangladesh policy in NY
Two US Representatives will meet Bangladeshi community living in New York Saturday to discuss about US foreign policy towards Bangladesh.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan Mozena will be present at the programme organised at the Newtown High School in Elmhurst, according to a press release.
US Congresswoman Grace Meng and Congressman Joseph Crowley will hold discussion on the country's foreign policy towards Bangladesh as well as the US-Bangladesh relationship, said the release.
Meng is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the panel that oversees US policy towards all countries around the world including Bangladesh.
"These are challenging times for our friend and ally Bangladesh, and I look forward to an open and productive discussion on the many issues affecting the country including US-Bangladesh relations," said Meng.
She urged all members of the Bangladesh community – as well as the general public – to attend "what will be a very informative evening".
A question and answer session will follow where attendees can ask about any issues related to Bangladesh, said the press release.
