US diplomat Jon Danilowicz transferred to Peshawar from Dhaka

Influential US diplomat in Dhaka Jon F Danilowicz, who has spent a long time of his diplomatic career in Bangladesh, is leaving for Pakistan sometime in January to take up his new assignment there.
Though Jon, in his previous two postings in Bangladesh, completed three years of tenures, this time he is leaving only after about 17 months. His replacement is yet to be named.
Jon is currently deputy chief of mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in Dhaka. He has been appointed consul general at the US Consulate General in Peshawar, Pakistan, according to diplomatic sources.
During his current assignment in Bangladesh, Jon played a crucial role in the political arena and all eyes were always focused on him.
