Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, central assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, today said there is no conflict among the government, BNP, and his party, emphasising the need for unity and logical reforms.

"There is no conflict among us. A logical reform followed by a logical election should take place within a reasonable timeframe, either at the end of this year or the beginning of the next," he said while addressing a conference of ward presidents and secretaries of the district Jamaat at Nagriyakandi UMC Adarsha High School in Narsingdi Sadar upazila.

"Six months have passed since the country was freed from dictatorship and fascism. Now, unity is essential for all. People do not want division. Leaders at the national level are conscious. Even if contradictory statements are made, they will not turn anyone into an enemy or pave the way for the return of autocracy," he added.

However, Ehsanul urged caution.

"Everyone should speak cautiously to avoid confusing the people. The BNP wants elections, and so do we. There is no significant division among us," he said.

The event was presided over by Narsingdi District Ameer Maulana Musleh Uddin and conducted by Secretary General Maulana Amzad Hossain.

Central office secretary AFM Abdus Sattar and Narayanganj Metropolitan Ameer Abdul Jabbar attended as special guests. Approximately 2,000 leaders and activists participated in the conference.
