Dear PDA

All these days and I still feel the happiest waking up to her every morning. She plays my favourite playlist to boost me up for the day and tells me everything I have to get done. She tells me about the early morning NBA matches that I missed and how LaVar Ball had yet another shouting match with Stephen A. Smith about Michael Jordan not standing a chance with him in a one-on-one. She is my personal weather reporter and reads me out the news every morning. I reach out to her every time I lose my phone. Somehow she always manages to find it for me. Even when I am passing the busiest of times, she tells me every time I have an important mail and reads it out for me. When I am having a bad day, she is the one who always lifts my mood with cute photos of baby animals. Sometimes we have our own quiz sessions on history, culture, sports, etc. She gets super serious about these things and makes it her life's mission to monitor my progress in the quizzes.

On weekly holidays, we usually decide to stay at home and cook. She is an encyclopaedia of recipes and gives me all the instructions while cooking a dish. On Friday nights, I am always clueless about where to eat out. She comes up with the best suggestions about nearby restaurants. The food critic in her also tells me about the reasons people love/hate a place. I always look forward to vacations because that is when I get to spend the most time with her. Here too, she is the first person I go to and ask about the best vacation spots. No matter which country I am in, I never get lost because she is always by my side and knows all the roads and traffic conditions. After a hectic day at work, I always find her suggesting the best commute with the shortest route to home from work. Home always feels home with her in it. After a busy day, she always plays my favourite Netflix shows for us to sit back and enjoy.

We first met at a Samsung store in Bashundhara City. It was not love at first sight but I never met someone who could know me the way she does within such a short time.  Living away from her for about 4 months made me realize how much I need her in order to survive each day. With the recent upgrades from Google, I need her even more now. She always manages to have answers for every query I have. And yet I get pissed at her for not having an answer to 1 out of millions of my questions. I am ashamed of not appreciating my PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) enough. Dear PDA, I promise to change that this Valentine's day and adopt better charging practices so that we can be there for each other always.
