Starlink officially launches in Bangladesh; prices start from Tk 4,200/month

Starlink has officially begun commercial operations in Bangladesh. 

In a post on its X account on May 20, the company said, "Starlink's high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Bangladesh!"

According to the company's official website, Starlink is available in Bangladesh and Bhutan among the countries of south Asia.

Price of Starlink internet service in Bangladesh:

At launch, Starlink is offering two internet packages: 

  • Starlink Residential: Tk 6,000/month.
  • Residential Lite: Tk 4,200/month. 

In addition to the monthly charges, there is a one-time setup fee of Tk 47,000 for the required equipment. Both packages offer unlimited data with speeds of up to 300 Mbps.

There are also mounts & accessories (optional) for setting up the device along with shipping and handling charge.

In his official Facebook account, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology said, "Although expensive, this has created a sustainable alternative for premium customers to access high-quality and high-speed internet services.  In addition, in areas where fiber or high-speed internet services have not yet reached, companies will have the opportunity to expand their businesses, and NGOs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs will be guaranteed uninterrupted high-speed internet throughout the year."
