Renowned visual arts organisation Drik is set to unveil a special photography exhibition linked to Bandarban today, showcasing a treasure trove of rare photographs spanning over a century. Titled “With My Own Eyes, On My Own Land”, the four-day exhibition will take place at Rajar Math in Bandarban town from May 13 to 16.
The Bangladesh Press Photo Award celebrates the courageous men and women who brave the frontlines to capture news, every day. A jury composed of the country’s top professional photographers selected the finest works in photojournalism and informational photography from the previous year, highlighting the excellence of these photographers.
On December 23 (yesterday) at Drik, a significant film titled "Dear Mother" was presented unconventionally, opting for open-air screening instead of traditional ticket exchanges. The initiative was undertaken instead of associating industry and commerce because the organisers persist in their efforts to firmly believe that the encroachment on the hills is undeniably a consequence of commercialisation.
Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, in partnership with Drik, is holding a photography exhibition, “From Kabul to Kolkata: of Belonging, Memories and Identity”, at Drik Gallery in the capital.
