BNP's October 28 rally

HC to hear Fakhrul's bail petition on December 7

The High Court today set December 7 as the date to hear BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir bail petition in a case filed over the vandalism of the chief justice's residence on October 28

The human toll of political expediency

Aggrieved BNP families’ pleas for justice deserve proper response

Electoral lip service cannot hide ugly truths

Ongoing treatment of the opposition camp deeply alarming

Right to fair trials extends to BNP, too

The legal process must be rid of any political interference

No excuse good enough for forgoing dialogue

Politicians must give talks a chance to break stalemate

Polls schedule is not a cut-off point for dialogue

Without political reconciliations, we're headed for another violent, one-sided election

Who are these nameless, faceless arsonists?

These attacks are at once a political issue, a law enforcement issue, and a human rights issue.

Oust-Govt Movement: Family members now face arrests

Soon after the BNP announced its October 28 rally, Salauddin Salo, member secretary of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal’s Narayanganj unit, left his home to avoid arrest.

Could BNP have avoided violence on Oct 28?

Had the BNP leadership stayed more alert, maybe the violence could have been averted to some extent, if not entirely.

Where do we go from here?

In Dhaka, the designated streets occupied by BNP looked like a battlefield.
