Sylhet court rejects remand prayer for 13 JCD men
A Sylhet court yesterday rejected a prayer for police remand for 13 Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal men arrested in a case filed for attacking police and creating violence in the city on Friday.
However, the court asked the law enforcers to quiz the pro-BNP leaders and activists, including the district President Sayeed Ahmed, at jail gate.
The orders came after Airport police on Saturday sought a five-day remand for each of them.
On September 19, Sayeed and his faction came under an attack by their rivals a day after announcement of the city and district committees, triggering a clash between the two groups at Amabarkhana.
As police fired gunshots to disperse the troublemakers, seven crackers were exploded and the law enforcers were pelted with projectiles.
Police filed the case accusing 63 JCD men, including the 13.
