Guidelines for Article Submission

The Daily Star Opinion welcomes articles that are topical, well-researched, and of public interest. If you wish to submit an article or pitch an idea, please follow the guidelines below:

Submit your article or pitch via email to: [email protected]

The article must be exclusive to The Daily Star and not published or under consideration elsewhere.

Sources of the information used in your article must be properly cited, using hyperlinks.

If the article is found to be generated or heavily influenced by artificial intelligence (AI), it will not be considered.

The article should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx)—not a PDF file—and should not exceed 1,000 words.

While submitting it, include a recent photograph of the author and a one-sentence biography outlining their professional background. First-time contributors are encouraged to submit a CV or proof of credentials for verification.

For articles related to special national or international days or commemorative events, please submit at least one week in advance so that we can review it and respond in time, if selected.

After submission, please allow 5-7 days for a response. If your article is selected or requires revisions, we will contact you. If you do not hear back within this period, feel free to submit it elsewhere.

Articles may be edited or shortened for length and clarity. If there is a part you consider crucial and would prefer to retain unchanged, please highlight it.

Please do not send press releases; these will be deleted without being opened.
