Guidelines for Article Submission

The Daily Star Opinion welcomes submission of articles that are topical, well-researched, and of public interest. If you wish to submit an article or pitch an idea, please follow the guidelines below:

• Submit your article via email to: [email protected]

• The article must be exclusive to The Daily Star, and must not be published or under consideration elsewhere.

• Sources of the information used in your article must be properly cited, using hyperlinks.

• If the article is found to be heavily influenced by artificial intelligence (AI), it will not be considered.

• The article should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx)—not a PDF file—and ideally should not exceed 1,000 words.

• While submitting it, include a recent photograph of the author and a one-sentence biography outlining their professional background. First-time contributors are encouraged to submit a CV or proof of credentials for verification.

• For articles related to national or international days, or special commemorative events, please submit a week in advance so that we can review it and respond in time, if selected.

• After submission, please allow 5-7 days for a response. If your article is selected, or requires revisions, we will contact you. If you do not hear back within this period, feel free to submit it elsewhere.

• Articles may be edited or shortened for length and clarity. If there is a part you consider crucial and would prefer to retain unchanged, please highlight it.

• Do not send press releases; these will be deleted without being opened.
