Resurgence wins Social Impact Prize at GSEA International Finals
Naziba Naila Wafa, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Resurgence is the first Bangladeshi to win an award under the category of 'Social Impact' at the 'Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 in Macau. Naziba represented Bangladesh in the Global Finals of GSEA Awards. Resurgence aims at spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene amongst the underprivileged community of our society by manufacturing low-cost, biodegradable sanitary napkins made out of kochuripana (water hyacinth), which is easily available across Bangladesh. 52 other young entrepreneurs across the world presented their projects at the awards. Naziba was hugely inspired after meeting the other young participants.
Being the first Bangladeshi to win this award, Naziba is now more motivated to bring about positive changes. She hopes to collaborate with some of the people that she met in Macau for future projects. One of her plans is to introduce 'Period Education' and she hopes to be part of a society where people can openly talk about menstruation.
