Thousands marooned as water levels of Padma and Jamuna rivers continues to rise

The water level of Padma and Jamuna is on the rise after days of rain affecting the locals in the area. Thousands of families in low-lying areas Daulatpur, Shibaloy, Harirampur upazilas have been marooned due to the rising water of Padma and Jamuna. Jalalpur village in Shahjadpur Upazila of Sirajganj is slowly disappearing due to Jamuna river erosion.
