Ray weighing around 400kg caught from Padma
Local fisherman in Rajbari caught a colossal ray, weighing around 400 kilograms, from the Padma River on Thursday morning.
The ray was then sold for Tk 80,000 at Rajbari fish market, with fascinated onlookers crowding to see this rare sight.
Rays are the largest group of cartilaginous fishes and are distinguished by their flattened bodies, enlarged pectoral fins that are fused to the head, and gill slits that are placed on their ventral surfaces.
