Usman scores first hundred in BPL 11 as Chittagong post 219

Chittagong Kings' Pakistani recruit Usman Khan became the first to score a century in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League T20 during his team's second match against Durbar Rajshahi at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

Usman struck 11 fours and five sixes in his 48-ball hundred, and he reached the feat in the 14th over of Chittagong's innings after taking a single from Sohag Gazi's last ball of that over.

Riding on Usman's 123 off 62 balls, Chittagong amassed 219-5 in 20 overs after asked in to bat first -- registering the highest total of BPL's 11th edition, having surpassed Khulna Tigers' 203-4 against Chittagong.

The 29-year-old, however, rode on luck on a couple of occasions, as he was dropped twice -- on 81 and 95 runs by Anamul Haque Bijoy and Shafiul Islam, respectively.

This was also Usman's second hundred in the BPL, following his 103 runs for Chattogram Challengers against Khulna Tigers at the same venue in 2023.
