Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football from Monday

The draw ceremony for the Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament was held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium. Alongside the draw, the official jerseys and trophy for the tournament were also unveiled.

Organised by the Bangladesh Sports Journalists' Association (BSJA) and sponsored by Square Toiletries, the tournament will begin on Monday, May 26, with a total of 32 prominent media houses from taking part. The 32 teams have been divided into eight groups, with the top teams progressing to the knockout stages.

The press conference was attended by Dr. Jesmin Zaman, head of marketing at Square Toiletries; former national footballer and current coach of Mohammedan, Alfaz Ahmed; BSJA president Arifur Rahman Babu; and general secretary SM Sumon. BSJA vice-president and tournament convenor Raihan Al Mughni, joint convenor Robiul Islam, and member secretary Yasin Hasan were also present.

Speaking at the event, Dr Jesmin Zaman described the tournament as a "festival of unity" for journalists, highlighting the spirit of brotherhood over competition. Alfaz shared his appreciation for the initiative, noting that it was heartening to see journalists actively engage in football despite their busy schedules.
