Every 50-50 decision went Inter's way: Barca's Flick

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick claimed that every 50-50 decision went against his side during the Champions League semifinal second-leg against Inter on Tuesday, which the Italian side won 4-3 on the night, and 7-6 on aggregate, at San Siro.

"I don't want to speak about the referee, but every 50:50 decision was for them," Flick told Movistar after the epic game.

Barca were gunning for a quadruple in Flick's first season as coach, but will have to go again in Europe's top club competition after a defeat which was hard to digest. Barcelona conceded a penalty just before half-time, which was converted by Hakan Calhanoglu. The penalty, however, was not given during the run of play but the referee's decision was later reverted following VAR intervention.

Barca's prodigy Lamine Yamal was also fouled just on the edge of the box in the second half, and a freekick was awarded after referee had determined that the 17-year-old was tackled by Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan outside the box. Barca failed to score from that freekick.

To rub salt on Flick's wounds, the German coach was shown a yellow card after things got heated when Inter defender Francesco Acerbi stunned everyone with a late stoppage-time equaliser that pushed the game into extra-time.

Barca now have to pick themselves up to face Real Madrid on Sunday, when they will try to extend their four-point lead over their arch rivals at the top of La Liga.

Flick has already won the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey and is still favourite to complete a domestic treble.

An extra-time winner from Inter Milan substitute Davide Frattesi denied Barcelona their first Champions League final in 10 years.

Simone Inzaghi's Inter will face either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this month in Munich, where they will feel they have a great chance to be crowned kings of Europe for a fourth time after coming out on top in an epic contest.
