Warner to join Channel Nine commentary team

Currently banned from international duties, Australian David Warner is set to appear in commentary role for the Channel Nine Network during the Australia’s ODI series in England. Warner will join the commentary team for the second ODI in Cardiff on Saturday.
Australia duo Steve Smith and David Warner was banned for 12 months following their involvement in ball-tampering during the third Test against South Africa at Cape Town. Warner was held responsible for “development of a plan to attempt to artificially alter the condition of the ball”, and “instruction to a junior player to carry out a plan”.
However, Warner will make a return to cricket as he prepares for a T20 tournament in Toronto later this month.
“Dave is the best one-day and T20 batsman of the past decade so he’s perfectly placed to join our coverage for the UK series,” Nine’s director of sport Tom Malone told cricket.com.au.
“People have tried to paint Dave as the villain in all this, but he’s been hurting as much as the others. He just wants to atone for his mistakes and move on - I hope Australia gives all of them that chance.” He said.
