Shakib Al Hasan had been the number one all-rounder in ICC rankings for a long period, but no other player from the country had reached the heights following Shakib's domination. After a long time, another all-rounder in Mehedi Hasan Miraz has secured second position in ICC Test rankings for all-rounders.

Miraz, who struck a 104 and claimed a five-wicket haul in Bangladesh's comprehensive win over Zimbabwe in Chattogram, reached career-best 327 rating points to overtake South African all-rounder Marco Jansen. India's Ravindra Jadeja is leading the Test all-rounders chart with 400 points.

During the last series against Zimbabwe, Miraz also scaled the double landmark of 200 wickets and 2000 Test runs, securing the record in fewer games than Shakib.

The all-rounder was presented with a crest by Bangladesh Cricket Supporters' Association today and talked about the records.

"Obviously it feels good but truth be told, it would be better if I can notch number one position [in future]. The target obviously is to go higher but at the end of the day, I have to remain fit to perform and I am not thinking too big at the moment and taking small steps," he told reporters today.

Miraz has 205 Test wickets to his name with Shakib and Taijul Islam being the only Bangladesh players to have bagged more Test wickets. "It's great to reach such landmarks and if I can do that for Bangladesh, whatever the format is, then it will be feel good."
