The Bangladesh U-19 men's cricket team will kick off a training camp in Sylhet on Thursday as part of their preparations for the upcoming tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe. A 25-member squad departed Dhaka for the first phase of the camp, which will focus on fitness and skill development and continue until June 3.

The second phase of the camp is set to begin after the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, likely around June 20 or 22.

The junior Tigers are scheduled to leave for South Africa on July 10 to play a four-match one-day series. Both teams will then travel to Zimbabwe for a tri-nation series also involving the host nation. The tri-series was arranged after discussions among the three boards, replacing the originally planned bilateral series with Zimbabwe.

"This tour will help us prepare well for the next U-19 World Cup, which Zimbabwe and Namibia will co-host next year," said AEM Kawser, BCB's game development manager.

As part of the training program, the team will have four sessions with Dr David Scott, a sports psychologist known for his work with the national team and High Performance (HP) Unit. Additionally, four to five players from the recent Youth Cricket League have been included in the camp, and HP spin coach Arshad Khan may also be involved in pre-tour preparations.
