A packed schedule for the Tigers in new ICC FTP schedule

Reports suggest that Bangladesh have 34 Tests, 59 ODIs and 51 T20Is lined up for the upcoming ICC FTP schedule from 2024 till 2027.
Bangladesh are only behind England (42), Australia (41) and India (38) in terms of number of Tests played in the new FTP cycle, ESPNCricinfo reported. Bangladesh also have the highest number of ODI assignments listed in the new FTP and the total number of matches in three formats stand at 144, only behind West Indies, who will play 146 matches.
"They will play Tests in India, Pakistan and the West Indies, and host New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka," Cricinfo report said.
Bangladesh have 30 Tests in the current FTP cycle which runs till 2023.
"We can't comment on the numbers. We have been trying to increase the number of games in our international calendar for the last eight years or so," BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told The Daily Star today.
The number of international assignments will however put stress on the participation of national stars in the domestic league.
"We expected to play more matches in the new FTP cycle but the schedule would be very challenging as it our domestic scheduling would have to be managed," Nizamuddin said.
Previously, following an ICC meeting, Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus had told the media that Tigers were likely to have more than 40 Tests in the new cycle.
