Nahid, two coaching staff members withdraw from Pakistan tour

Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana, fielding coach James Pamment and trainer Nathan Keily have withdrawn their names from the upcoming Pakistan tour.

BCB's cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedeen Fahim confirmed the development on Wednesday, adding that rest of the members of the squad have agreed to tour Pakistan for a three-match T20I series, scheduled to start on May 28.

"Nahid Rana has withdrawn himself. He isn't going. Among the coaching staff, James [Pamment] and Nathan [Keily], who are our fielding coach and trainer, aren't going. The rest are ready to go there," Fahim told reporters at a press conference in Mirpur.

"There were hesitations among few other players. But later, when they saw others are going, they felt that it might not be difficult to go there and they changed their initial position," he said, adding that the recent tensions between India and Pakistan may have led this trio to take such a decision.

"Nahid Rana was recently in Pakistan and obviously he had a new experience and that's why he might have decided this. The other two persons don't want to face a similar type of thing and wanted to avoid such a situation," he added.

The Tigers, who are currently in the UAE for a three-match T20I series against the hosts, are expected to travel to Pakistan on May 25.

The PCB announced a revised itinerary of the three-match series today, after having named a 16-member squad for the series earlier.

The action-packed series will kick off with the first T20I on May 28, followed by the second fixture on May 30. The third and final T20I is set to take place on June 1.

All three matches of the series – on May 28, May 30 and June 1 -- will be day-night affairs taking place at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.
