All-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz has been recalled to Bangladesh's T20I squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan, replacing Soumya Sarkar, who has been ruled out due to a back injury.

Soumya had been experiencing right-sided lower back pain over the past week.

Following a medical assessment, National Team Physio Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed: "The injury requires an extended rehabilitation period of approximately 10 to 12 days. This effectively means that he will not be available for next week's three-match series in Pakistan."

The 27-year-old Miraz, who has featured in 29 T20 Internationals for Bangladesh, is currently in Pakistan representing the Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He is expected to join the national squad in Lahore upon the conclusion of his PSL commitments.

Miraz last appeared in a T20I for Bangladesh during the tour of the West Indies in December last year.

Originally slated as a five-match contest, the tour has been reduced to three games, all of which will take place at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The series opener is scheduled for May 28.
