DRS in BPL’s latter stages?
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will try to implement the Decision Review System from the latter stages of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed yesterday.
The absence of DRS has led to criticism since the start of the BPL and the governing council later introduced the Alternative Decision Review System (ADRS) in the Chattogram leg of the tournament.
However, there confusion remained despite the ADRS after some controversial decisions that were made in the absence of conclusive evidence.
We are trying to see whether we can introduce DRS in the latter stages of the BPL, not only for the upcoming series against Afghanistan. We have started the process and are trying to introduce the full DRS from the last Dhaka leg and also ensure the technology for the Afghanistan series," Nizamuddin told media yesterday.
The second leg of BPL will begin in Dhaka from today, with Mushfiqur Rahim's Khulna Tigers taking on Sylhet Sunrisers in the day game. In the day's second fixture, Chattogram Challengers will lock horns with Comilla Victorians. Comilla's English all-rounder Moeen Ali already joined the side in Dhaka yesterday and is expected to be available for the rest of the tournament.
