Cricketers celebrate Eid with heartfelt messages

Bangladesh cricketers, including former captain Tamim Iqbal, extended Eid greetings as the country celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr today.

"May Allah bless you with health, happiness, and prosperity this Eid. Eid Mubarak," Tamim wrote on his official Facebook page yesterday. The message was particularly significant for his fans, as the left-handed opener recently survived a heart attack.

For a rare change, the Bangladesh cricket team do not have any ongoing assignments during this Eid, allowing players to celebrate the occasion with their loved ones. Middle-order batter Towhid Hridoy expressed his joy at being home for the festivities.

"I am here in Bangladesh and just performed my Eid prayer at the Eidgah [an open-air prayer ground for special congregational prayers]. Seeing my parents' smiling faces -- what more could one ask for in a lifetime? Wishing everyone a happy Eid. May Allah bless you and your family," Hridoy captioned a picture with his father on his official Facebook page today.

Meanwhile, opening batter Liton Das shared a family picture along with a heartfelt message: "Eid Mubarak from us to everyone celebrating. Hope this occasion will help all of us to be more humble & helpful to others. Together we can build a peaceful world."

A number of other cricketers, including Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, shared pictures with their family, friends, and dear ones and wished their fans on this joyous occasion.
