Bangladesh qualify for semis of Emerging Women's Asia Cup

Bangladesh ensured their spot in the semifinal of the ACC Women's Emerging Teams Cup Asia Cup after their last group game against UAE got washed out due to rain in Hong Kong on Friday. 

After the rain had ended, it was the wet outfield which forced the match officials to abandon the game and the two sides eventually had to share points. 

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka were tied on four points in three games but due to a better net run-rate, the Tigresses finished as the group champions from group B and confirmed their place in the semi-final alongside Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh's previous game against Sri Lanka was also washed out on Wednesday after the Tigresses clinched 97 runs win over Malaysia in their opening game of the tournament.

Lata Mondol and her troops will take on the runners-up from group A in the second semifinal on Monday.
