Bairstow to replace Will Jacks at Mumbai Indians

Jonny Bairstow will replace fellow Englishman Will Jacks at Mumbai Indians for the final phase of the Indian Premier League, the franchise said Tuesday.
Jacks along with the South African duo Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch will leave for national duties after Mumbai's last league match on Monday.
Sri Lanka's batting all-rounder Charith Asalanka and England pace bowler Richard Gleeson have also been signed by Mumbai to fill in for the outgoing players.
"The replacement players will be available from playoffs stage onwards, should Mumbai Indians qualify," the team said in a statement.
The 35-year-old Bairstow, a wicketkeeper-batsman who has played for England nearly 300 times across all three formats, has been signed for $614,000.
Five-time champions Mumbai are fourth in the 10-team table and in competition with Delhi Capitals for one remaining play-off spot.
Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings have already made the playoffs starting May 29.
The IPL resumed Saturday after the conflict between India and Pakistan, forcing overseas players to revisit their season plans after the revised schedule of the T20 tournament.
The IPL will now end on June 3, nine days later than planned.
That puts it on a collision course with the English summer of cricket and preparations for the World Test Championship (WTC) final between Australia and South Africa at Lord's.
Jacks is in the England ODI and T20 squads for home matches against the West Indies starting on May 29.
