Ash claims 3 on return
Once Mohmmed Ashraful finally got the opportunity to get back onto the field after rain had delayed his return in the first round of the National Cricket League, he jumped at the chance, starting his second journey with a three-wicket haul on the first day of the second round match at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna yesterday.
Leg-spinner Ashraful -- along with Arafat Sunny -- gave Dhaka Metro a good start, but a 139-run fifth wicket partnership between Abu Sayeem (98) and Shohag Gazi (87 not out) helped Barisal seize the initiative.
At Bogra, an unbeaten 162-run stand between Anamul Haque and Mosaddek Ifhtekhar helped Khulna post 172 for one against Dhaka Division before rain stopped play.
At Rajshahi, pacer Farhad Reza claimed four wickets and left-arm spinner Saqlain Sajib took two to wrap up Chittagong's innings for 141. Rajshahi finished strongly, posting 121 for one at stumps.
At Sylhet, Shahanur Rahman and Alok Kapali captured three wickets each as Rangpur finished the day at 191 seven against Sylhet.
