Tigers to go to action with new Test jersey
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the national team's new Test jersey -- with surnames and numbers on the back -- which the team will adorn during Bangladesh's one-off Test against Afghanistan at Chattogram on September 5.
The numbered jerseys with surnames on the back were introduced for the first time in the history of Test cricket during the ongoing Ashes series between England and Australia. The ICC decided to poupularise the longest format of the game and so the new jerseys came into action.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan was wearing the jersey when he met his Afghanistan counterpart and Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate Rashid Khan at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium today. The two exchanged greeting with a big grin on their faces when they hugged.
