Bangladesh's right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed suffered an injury on his left hand's finger during a training session on Monday ahead of the Tigers' upcoming home series against West Indies later this month.

Taskin cracked his left hand's finger as he tried to stop a Tamim Iqbal drive while bowling at the nets. The right-armer was soon taken out of the practice and is expected to have a stitch on his finger tonight.

"He cracked his finger and tonight we will give him a stitch. After that, we will look into how many days he might be unavailable,'' BCB physician Manjur Hossain told reporters on Monday.

''For the time being we will keep him in observation for two to three days as it is not his bowling hand,'' he said.

Earlier, young Parvez Hossain was ruled out of the preliminary ODI squad for the upcoming West Indies series after an old groin injury resurfaced.
