Nurul to lead BCB XI against Afghanistan in a two-day practice game
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the BCB XI squad that will be playing a two-day practice match against Afghanistan at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, scheduled to begin from September 1.
Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan will be captaining the side in the practice match. None of the players from the 15-member squad that was named for the upcoming Afghanistan Test from September 5 in Chattogram will be featuring in the two-day practice match.
Nurul, who was left out of the contingent of 35 cricketers that were called up for a conditioning camp ahead of the one-off Test against Afghanistan and the following T20I tri-series involving Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, had earlier said that he would not make it to the national side even if he performed well.
Nurul last played for the Tigers during their tour of West Indies in 2018, where Bangladesh lost the two-match Test series in a disastrous fashion.
