Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the only cricketer from the A-plus category who did not get a team in the first four rounds of the draft for the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) T20 today.
Jamuna Bank Dhaka Platoon roped in opener Tamim Iqbal, Premier Bank Khulna Tigers confirmed Mushfiqur Rahim and Chattogram Challengers picked up Mahmudullah Riyad from the A-plus category.
The seven teams featuring in the tournament are: Jamuna Bank Dhaka Platoon, Premier Bank Khulna Tigers, Rajshahi Royals, Rangpur Rangers, Sylhet Thunder, Cumilla Warriors and Chattogram Challengers.
There are six categories: A-plus, A, B, C, D and E, in the local players’ list.
Mushfiqur, Tamim, Mahmudullah and Mashrafe were drafted into the A-plus category priced at Tk 50 lakh.
Overseas players in the A-plus category will receive more money as a price of 100,000 US dollars has been fixed for players like Shahid Afridi in this top category.
The tournament is scheduled to start from December 11.
