Hider in for Afghan clash
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) yesterday announced that left-arm pacer Abu Hider will be included in the squad for today's T20I Tri-nation series match against Afghanistan after uncapped pacer Yasin Arafat suffered a side strain.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed that due to his injury, Arafat has also become uncertain for the High Performance squad's tour of India later this month.
Hider was the latest inclusion to the initial 13-member squad, which the BCB had announced last Monday, for the first two matches of the tournament. The 23-year old adds to the Tigers' pace arsenal.
The last time Hider had played in the format in national colours was in December 2018, when Bangladesh suffered a 50-run defeat at the hands of West Indies in the final match of a three-match series in Dhaka. The left-armer, could only scalp a solitary wicket while giving away a combined 87 runs in seven overs from all three matches he played in the series. Subsequently, he was eventually not named in the initial 13-member squad for the ongoing tournament.
