Smartphone & Tab Expo ends with a bang

To introduce users to modern smartphones and tablets and for them to try the products and make purchases, a three day 'Grameenphone Smartphone and Tab Fair 2014' was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, starting from the 12th of December. The fair continued till 14th December. This was the third exhibition of smartphones and tablets, organized by Expo Maker. The title sponsor for this event was Grameenphone. Co-sponsors were: ASUS, Huawei, Lenovo, Samsung and Symphony. Aside from these brands, there were 5 pavilions, 5 mini pavilions and 11 stalls where tech products were displayed from brands such as Okapia, Maximus, Acer, MyCell, ADATA, RNTech, HTC, DX Generation, Prestigio, Gadget Gang 7, and several others.
The fair was open for the visitors on Friday, 12th December, from 10am. However, the inauguration of the fair will take place at 4pm on the same day. Science and Technology State Minister, Yafez Osman, will officially inaugurate the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
On the last day of the fair, from 11am to 1pm, a dialogue took place titled 'Kemon Internet Chai? (What kind of internet do we want?)' which was jointly organized by Expo Maker and Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF). Several industry leaders and ICT journalists took part in this interactive session. Chief guest of the session was ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak. Answering to question of the audience, he said that the price of internet has reduced significantly over the last 5 years and the government do want to build necessary infrastructures to bring internet to the rural population.
